Insurance and Fees

Insurance plans often cover nutrition consultations with a dietitian at no cost to you!

Coverage and network participation depend on the member’s plan and location.

Medicaid Plans

New Mexico Medicaid Plans:

• NM Medicaid plans only cover nutrition for individuals under 21 and pregnant adults. For nonpregnant adults aged 21 or older, please ask the patient’s assigned care coordinator (via the insurance plan) for additional resources in your region.
• Medicaid does not cover weight management nutrition.

• Medicaid plans require a referral. Please have your provider fax it to us at (575) 334-0201.

A note about Medicare (part B only)

We currently accept Medicare in New Mexico. However, Medicare has extensive restrictions about who can refer, for what, and where.

• Medicare only covers nutrition for diabetes or kidney disease.
• The referral must be from or cosigned by a MD or DO per Medicare rules for medical nutrition therapy.

Self-pay

We offer discounted self-pay options for multiple visits.

• Our standard rate is $210/hour for initial visits and $180/hour for follow-up visits.
• Discounted Package Rate: If you purchase 2 or more hours at once, we apply our package rate, which averages 27% savings.
• If your visits are set more than 10 days apart, we bill for secure messaging that answers patient-initiated health-related questions. Not all messaging qualifies as an “e-visit,” you are welcome to ask us non-health-related questions anytime without being billed or follow-up questions within 10 days or your visit.
• Check-in Appointments, Recipe Analysis, Customized Meal Plans, Recipe Makeovers, Extended Appointments, In-Depth Diet Analysis $180/hour
• We offer professional nutrition services and consultation on a fee-for-service basis.
• All fees will be disclosed and agreed upon in writing before commencing services. If I’m not contracted with your insurer, a superbill can be provided upon request for possible reimbursement. Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements are made in advance.

Referrals

Please have your provider make the referral to More Spoons LLC and fax the referral to (five seven five) 334-0201, with your most recent visit note, growth carts/vitals, recent labs, and ICD-10 diagnosis codes.
